Prism

The Prism series is the painted recollection of memory told through the lens of a crystal prism.  Over the past year,  I have been photographing the prism hanging in the window of my home studio. I’ve documented it through shifting times of day and the changing of seasons. The photographs are a record of the passage of time within one beautiful object.  I chose my favorite photographs and painted them as a way to honor the memories of creating in my home studio. This series focuses on Color, Shape and Light; some of the most basic elements of art but ones I find most fascinating. These paintings have allowed me to explore the most joyful aspects of my art practice and symbolize the transformative power of color and light.
