Stitch Meditations by Liz Kettle in the South Gallery space for June.
I tell stories that are personal as well as those that speak of relationship, humanity and the earth. Because each story is unique my work feels very eclectic but each piece has a common connection found in my love of stitch, layers, grids and texture. I choose to work with an untraditional palette of fabric and stitch because I believe they connect us and draw us closer in a way that cannot be achieved with traditional art materials alone. I use a variety of techniques drawing from the deep wells of quilting, mixed media collage and paint to tell and support each unique story. - Liz Kettle
