Collection: Shannon Dunn

A Chicago-area native, Shannon Dunn attended Illinois State University where she studied Art and Education. Once a K-12 art teacher, Shannon now focuses her energy full time on painting. She is primarily a narrative surrealist, although her style and subject matter vary depending on where her imagination takes her. Shannon’s paintings are largely inspired by the natural world. Her art practice serves as both the interpretive process and product of her life and surroundings. She considers herself a visual storyteller; wherein figures, animals and natural elements become metaphors for the human experience. Shannon’s work has been shown in various solo and group exhibitions at galleries and public venues throughout Colorado. When Shannon is not painting in her studio, you can find her trail running and biking, paddling rivers and reservoirs, cooking and baking for her family and friends and snuggling with her beloved Boston Terrier, Atticus. She currently resides in Colorado Springs, CO with her husband and two children.
