Collection: Lori DiPasquale

I started my art career as a Decorative Painter and have had the opportunity to work in many inspiring and beautiful places. My work can be seen at the Broadmoor Hotel, Kimball's Theatre and many private residences in Colorado Springs. I enjoy working with my client’s personal style and tastes to create a warm and welcoming ambiance. I have a great eye for the subtle shifts of color. Along with wall glazing, I am skilled at Venetian plasters, rendering realistic marbles and wood graining, gilding, stenciling and other decorative embellishments on walls and furniture.
I started working with encaustics many years ago. I love encaustics! It is the perfect medium for me to create depth and texture through the layering of pigment and wax. I love the dichotomy of encaustics, its fluidity yet exact and immediate nature. Working with encaustics is a practice in non-attachment and letting go as I use the heat gun to melt and fuse. My work is sometimes an abstract study in color and texture, creating depth through the layering and melding of colors. Other times my work is more whimsical, using found objects like a dangling thread, inspiring words or shards of a broken vase.
I feel grateful if I can create a piece of art that evokes a feeling, thought or memory from the observer. If I can touch a heart, encourage or inspire through my art, that is a joy and success for me.
